This guarantee gives you the option to try out our equipment, and make changes if necessary, or return it if it does not serve you as you'd hoped. We are confident that when you get your equipment, you will see just what a great decision you have made in purchasing our products. However, if for any reason you are not satisfied, you may return your equipment within 60 days for a complete refund, minus the cost of shipping. This is an unlimited, no questions asked guarantee.
Your Warranty
All AlienBees Flash Units carry a 2 Year Factory Warranty. This warranty does apply to a unit's original flashtube, but not to the modeling lamp, as these are standard bulbs that may be exhausted based on use. The obligation of AlienBees is limited to the repair or the replacement of your products that have become defective under normal use, as outlined in your manual.
AlienBees Remote Controls (the LG4X and the RFT1) carry a 2 Year Factory Warranty. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the remote control unit, which fails during the period stated. The warranty shall exclude the replacement of batteries, as these become exhausted over time based on normal use. The Vagabond II Portable Power System arrives with our 2-Year Factory Warranty. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement only of units that have become defective under normal use, as outlined in the manual. The Vagabond II internal B20A battery has a 1-Year Factory Warranty. The battery warranty is limited to the replacement of batteries that have become defective under normal use as well, and does not include the replacement of a battery that has become exhausted based on use or lack of appropriate charging. Take care to follow all of the instructions within the manual to ensure proper use and to get the most life out of your battery. All other AlienBees products (i.e. the softboxes and octaboxes, umbrellas, reflectors, light stands, light modifiers, hardware, etc.) carry a 1 Year Factory Warranty, limited to the repair or replacement only.
Bee-Aid
Our Technical Services Bees are known for their quick assessment and their hassle-free service. If you should experience any problems with your equipment, first refer to your owner's manual to ensure proper use. Then, if you are still having difficulties diagnosing the problem, please feel free to call us, and we will assess your predicament as best we can, and let you know if we need to bring your unit in for repair or replacement. At this time, we will also let you know how to package and ship your product back to us, if necessary. Please call us as well for information on Service Centers in Canada and other international locations which may be appropriate.
Equipment must be returned to the AlienBees Headquarters for warranty or out of warranty repairs. Be sure to carefully package anything for return, and include a Repair Form with your package. Click Here to find the Repair Form, which you can print and fill out to include with your equipment. This form will help us to quickly process, repair, and return your equipment. We recommend that you return the equipment in its original box if possible.
There is a standard $40 non-warranty service charge for all units that are no longer covered by our 2 Year Factory Warranty. This $40 charge covers most standard repairs. Occasionally there are repairs needed that require additional service charges. If we see that there will be additional service charges over and above the standard $40 non-warranty fee, we will notify you of these additional charges before those repairs are done. Please call us before sending in money, so that we may confirm your status. All customers (warranty or non-warranty) will be responsible for shipping their units to us. Shipping from us to return your repaired unit is included in the standard $40 non-warranty service fee. There will be an additional $20 charge for any repairs shipped from Canada. Please contact us for shipping charges from other countries outside of the US.
For warranty repairs, we will cover the shipping charges to return your unit. For non-warranty repairs, shipping from us to return your repaired unit is included in the standard non-warranty service fee. For all return shipments, we use our standard UPS Ground method of shipment (a 3 to 6 business day service). For either warranty or non-warranty repairs, please contact us to calculate the additional costs if you would prefer to have your repaired unit sent with a more expedited UPS shipping method.
The AlienBees Easy Upgrade Policy
Within two years of your purchase date, our factory will upgrade any AlienBees flash unit (B400,B800, B1600) to any higher power model for a charge of $25 plus the price difference between the original model and the model which you upgrade to. Example: To upgrade a B800 unit to a B1600, the charge will be $25 plus $80 ($359.95-$279.95) for a total charge of $105. Included in this charge is a new housing (you may change colors if you like, at no charge) and any factory warranty service that might be needed. If you desire only a color change without upgrade, the cost is $25 and includes a new housing and any factory warranty service needed. The normal turnaround time for upgrades, color changes or factory warranty service is 2 to 4 days from the receipt of your unit and payment arrangement. The upgrade policy does not apply to the ABR800 Ringflash.
